A very cool pair of Victorian era earringswhosedangling black-onyx orbs are carved with the Star of David. These black orbs have a matte finish, so the shining lines of the carved six-pointed starstand out, subtly, fromthe rest of the surface. An eight-pointed gold star rests at the center ofeach larger, star-shaped symbol, and a creamy seed pearl is set at the center ofeach smaller star. Our starry orbs are fitted with gold bails—they hang from a short series of rings that connect to the earrings' long, shepherd's hook earwires. These are lightweight and easy to wear. We love them for their subdued palate, contrasting textures, and lovely, bobbing movement. The Star of David is a rare motif in jewelry of this era.
